Default First Look at Rick Quinn's new book!

The first of the scenic side trip roadtrip books will be in bookstores and online on April 3rd. Every month, RTA Contributing Writer, Rick Quinn, will be posting articles in his blog offering tips, suggestions and advice for finding and exploring scenic roads in Arizona and New Mexico. Rick's book is "RoadTrip America Arizona & New Mexico: 25 Scenic Side Trips."

Rick's first article "The Joy of Driving" is now available here.

Everyone is invited to the book launch party in Tempe, Arizona.

I'll put that on my calendar, but don't know if it will be possible. That bookstore is practically in my parents' backyard!

    Donna:

If you can't make it to the Launch Party, your parents should go! There will only be one official "launch," but there will be book signings and related events in at least ten different cities in April and May, and likely many others beyond that. The closest to San Diego that's currently scheduled is at the Distant Lands Travel Store in Pasadena (20 S. Raymond Ave) at 7:30 PM on May 7th. There's a schedule on the "Events" tab of the new website that was created for the book: Arizona and New Mexico: 25 Scenic Side Trips. That schedule will be updated as more events are formally "booked."

This isn't like any other travel guide you've seen. The focus isn't on the destinations. The focus is on the journey, and it's chock-full of delightful surprises, for new road trippers, as well as for all you veterans. I'd like to invite all the good people who read this forum to check it out when it becomes available, and to attend one of the events if you're able.

Absolutely. It will be available in hard copy and in all the usual e-book formats beginning in April.
