Thread: Tomtom maps USA

  1. Default Tomtom maps USA

    Hi Guys,

I am gearing up ready for our trip to California, San Fran, Yosemite, Death Valley, Vegas, Palm Springs, San Diego and LA and I have TOMTOM Navigator 6.03 on my PDA.

I presume all USA cars have the same FAG lighter socket at 12v so i can bring this with me and it will work?

I will also have the USA maps on it. Will this suffice? I am hoping to find some POI's for Petrol Stations? I don't want to get stuck without fuel on the long trips we are planning. Is this the best way of doing it?

Can anyone suggest any better way of doing it or where I might find the POI's to download?

    Rich

    Default Should be all set

I don't think you're going to find that anywhere along your route you'll be too far from a fueling station.

Our cigarette lighter sockets are 12v, though many cars now have done away with the lighter component and simply call these "accessory outlets".

I would recommend a paper atlas of the USA. PDA screens are limited in what they can present at a glance. Having a paper map will be much easier on the eyes for major route planning.

Yeah my nan went to LA in the summer and i visit her tomorrow, she has two or three paper maps she bought me, so hoping that will hope.
