I'm planning to drive from Chicago to Toronto for work during September and would like to take the wife and kids along (they are 3 and 5). Any ideas on some things to do along the way? Thanks

Welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum! First I would suggest looking at the five threads on the bottom of this page. How long will you trip be?Originally Posted by MattW149

We made a similar trip last year. We didn't do a lot of stopping on the way there, but we did spend some time at Indiana Dunes Natl Lakeshore on the way back. It made a nice break before making the last push into Chicago traffic.
Cereal City in Battle Creek always looked like a fun stop to me. Unfortuantly, we haven't been there yet because, we've always been in BC in the morning, and ironically Cereal City doesn't open until its almost afternoon.
Niagara Falls is a easy detour if you have time, and there are a number of things to do in Detroit/Windsor if you decide to use that route.
