Where To And How To....vegas ....

hi, im planning a short trip with 4 friends to Vegas from New york leaving friday afternoon and returning sunday afternoon, but i dont know where to stay or where to visit?, i heard you could go to the grand canyon but i have absolutely no idea of what to do once i reach vegas, any suggestions of any cheap motels or any tours that dont required lots of money?.............thanks for helping me out

With such a short trip to Vegas, I don't think you'll have time to squeeze in the Grand Canyon. It's about a 5 hour drive to the GC from Vegas. So, once you spend some time sightseeing along the rim, etc., you will really need 2 days.

Things to do in Vegas. Lots of shows to choose from. You can usually get tickets from your hotel concierge. If you're a Star Trek fan, go to the Star Trek Experience. There are little museums there that are fun like one for Lucille Ball. And lots of rides like the roller-coaster at New York/New York and the one where it's like you're going into a pharoah's tomb at Luxor. And there's lots of free shows, too. Again, your hotel's concierge should have free brochures with all the information you need to get your started.

And, of course, there's always just walking around and checking out the various casinos. The designs and architecture are quite amazing. And people-watching. And lazing about your hotel's pool. And gambling. And eating at the various buffets.

With the short-time you're there, I can't imagine you'll run out of things to do.

How are you getting to Las Vegas -- are you driving? If so, it will require four days of all day driving to even reach Las Vegas. It is not possible to do round trip NYC to LV in four days!
