How can that be possible? Crossing some of the most historic landscape in America. What kinds of things do you find interesting? What are you hoping/expecting to achieve on this road trip?Looked for some routes but nothing seems interesting.

We will have around 10-12 days.I will be with my kids 11 n 8 and My wife .
We are looking for some scenic drives and interesting stop overs.
I meant nothing interesting was about the highways.
Would like to have a couple of stops where we get to see something historic or something significant to tht place only.
...you can travel roads that are both historic and interesting in their own right such as the National Road in Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Between New York and Virginia, you'll be travelling through the heart of the area where our country started including New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, not to mention many Civil War Battlefields. On your return, try the Midland Trail in West Virginia or the Red River Gorge Area in western Kentucky.
