Once the tallest building in San Francisco, this fluted Art Deco structure perched atop Telegraph Hill is still a distinctive feature of the city skyline. Named for one of the colorful characters in the city's history, eccentric feminist socialite Lillie Hitchcock Coit, the tower was built in part as a tribute to firefighters, and also features murals depicting labor struggles of the depression era.
