Florida's so-called Forgotten Coast isn't short of beaches to chose from but Carrabelle Beach has something special to offer. As well as more than a mile of clean white sands and warm Gulf waters, there's a roadside park with a number of wonderfully photogenic (and practical), 50s style covered picnic tables. If you're lucky, you might see dolphins feeding just offshore. There's a healthy black bear population along this section of the coast so it's also possible you'll get to see these too.
If you go:
Small town Carrabelle has a number of other attractions including the Crooked River Lighthouse, three museums and The World's Smallest Police Station.
