A reconstruction of an actual mining town that once stood in these parts, Goldfield is a colorful taste of the Old West with a few contemporary touches thrown in. The authentic looking buildings including a saloon, a bank and a bordello are host to a steakhouse, bakery, museum, gift shops and other attractions. You can see gunfights in the hillside main street, pan for gold, and even take a mine tour. There's a narrated train ride on the state's only narrow gauge train, and for a more modern excursion, you can ride the quick but thrilling Superstition Zipline, which whisks you up 125 into the air and back down again for a bird's eye view of the town and the breathtakingly scenic Superstition Mountains and environs.
If you go:
You can take a stroll through the ghost town free of charge. Each of its attractions is priced separately. There is also an RV park that includes accommodations for horses. A western band plays and sings in the saloon at night. Merchants are open daily 10 to 5. The saloon is open 11 to 9.
