Fast Eddie's Bon Air - Alton, Illinois

A classic American roadhouse, Fast Eddie's Bon Air offers cold beer, live music, and dirt-cheap food to hundreds of people every day. The bar was originally opened in 1921 by Anheuser Busch, who was forced to sell it because of a law forbidding breweries from owning taverns. Today, it's best known for serving up food like the "Big Elwood" Steak on a Stick, $2 burgers, and 39-cent peel and eat shrimp.

The bar is cash only and no one under 21 is allowed, even with parents. Because of the extremely low food prices, customers must also order a drink and no carry-out food is allowed.
