Rapid City's Dinosaur Park is a classic old school road trip attraction, one that has been enchanting visitors since 1936. Located on the top of a hill that offers 100-mile views of the Black Hills and Badlands, the park is home to four concrete specimens, each painted green. While some are clearly showing their age, the occasional missing tooth or chipped tail is all part of their charm.
If you go:
Entry is free and there's a car park and gift shop / cafe at the bottom of the hill. The steps might be a little challenging for some (no wheelchair access) but it's the perfect place for kids to use up a little excess energy.
