      The Searchlight Museum is a small community museum featuring artifacts and displays from Searchlight's early years. The town's mining history takes center stage, but the museum also features exhibits of Clara Bow, a silent film star who lived on a ranch outside of town, Senator Harry Reid, and Lt. William Nellis (from whom Nellis Air Force Base takes its name).

      If you go:
      Admission is free. The Searchlight Museum's normal hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Closed Sundays. The Joshua Tree Highway runs westward of the museum towards Nipton, California.
