Free Blue Ridge Parkway Closure Detour Maps

I have posted detailed and thorough information about the closed section of the Blue Ridge Parkway north of Asheville, NC including maps of the Park Service recommended detour you can print, detailed descriptions of the roads involved, suggestions to improve the recommended detour, and four alternative detours around the closed area. This closure is in effect until spring of 2009. The maps and information are located at the link shown above.

Thanks Mark. I will not abuse the privledge. I am located in the heart of one of the most popular vacation destinations in the USA. One of, if not the best section of the Blue Ridge Parkway is right in my back yard. My town borders Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The famous elk herd is just over the hill. I am out on the road a lot and travel widely throughout the southeast in my work. I am not only glad to share my experience and local knowlege, but often gain a great deal from interracting with others via forums. This fourm has a wealth of great information and I'm glad to contribute to it. Please feel free to ask me for assistance and suggestions and/or refer people to me as a potential source of information. I'm glad to help whenever I can.
