Travel sized products

I came across a website recently that I thought some of you might be interested in. It's called Minimus and they specialize in travel sized items. I'm not connected to them in any way and have never even ordered from them yet, but I've been having fun just looking at the variety of products they offer. (It's amazing the things that will amuse me these days.) They have everything-toiletries, first aid, food and laundry and cleaning products.


In general, I'm not a big fan of travel sized packaging. I tend to think it's a waste of money and can never seem to find the products I use in travel sizes anyway. I don't fly often, so when road-tripping I just find it easier to take full-sized versions of the things I use the most and leave the "occasional use" stuff at home. On the other hand-I do try to have a "be prepared" mentality when packing but it's so hard to anticipate everything you might need on a long trip, without over-packing. I'm definitely thinking that some of these individual serving sizes and packets will come in handy in that respect.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share this with everyone. If anyone has any other good sites for road-trip packing and storage items, please post them. I loved that one thread on here where someone (I think it was Judy?) posted all her great packing tips. We're getting ready to buy a Class B RV/Conversion van, so we'll have a bit more room for storage but will still want to limit the amount of stuff we cram in it. Right now I'm on the lookout for places to find good storage containers, travel gadgets and just space saving products, in general.

I just sent our editor, Mark, some photos/info he requested of the stuff I carry in my car and how I pack it. I definitely should have been a Boy Scout. I'm prepared for almost anything. :-)

As my husband and I travel more these day I find using travel size isn't all that bad. I'm glad you shared the website Minimus. It had items that I never would have thought of getting in travel size. We also camp alot and this is going to benefit us with our limited space when camping.

Minimus has been really helpful to us, especially in recent couple of years. They carry individual packages of salad dressing, for instance, selling them in singles, where in Amazon you have to buy a whole case. Same with little packages of catsup, mustard, and other picnic supplies that don't have to be refrigerated. Since I watch my weight and other health issues, it's unobtrusive to carry an individual packet of Kraft dressing into a restaurant in my purse. I figure that maybe leaving my packet of "fat free Italian dressing" empty on the table, just might encourage management of restaurants to start offering lite and fat-free dressings instead of the leaded regular stuff.
