    Default Buffalo and Niagara Falls

I am planning a trip for Fall 2015 from Chicago to Boston. Staying just one night in Buffalo so was wondering if a visit to the Falls would be best in the afternoon of our arrival or next morning when we leave. Any advice on route from Buffalo downtown to a suitable car parking site to observe the Falls?

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

Is your night in Buffalo the only night you are spending on the entire trip (going from Chi to Bos in 2 days)? Also is traveling through Canada a possibility for you?

Personally, if it's possible, I wouldn't even go through Buffalo for this trip. Instead, drive directly to Niagara Falls, going through Michigan and southern Ontario, and then spend the night in the city of Niagara Falls (either Ontario or New York, depending upon what you can find.) That will give you the option of seeing the falls whenever you want, depending upon how you are feeling, and it could also make it easier for you to see both the Canadian and American side of the falls.

Even if you can't go through Canada, I'd still look to stay in Niagara Falls instead of Buffalo to make the most out of your somewhat limited time.

I really have never found it difficult to park on either side - although at times, I've had to walk a distance to find free parking. There are lots of pay lots and ramps, and if you stay nearby, you could just park at your hotel.
