22 days fly in LA ??

Hi,
Could anyone give me any ideas.We are flying into LA on the 9th september out LA 2nd October,travelling to Santa Barbara for a wedding which is on the 13th september pretty much around Santa Barbara until the 14th so we will have about 17 days after that..At some point would like to go to Los Vegas,San Fran up the coast, Where up for anything.We did plan to get a bus from LA to Santa Barbara, but wasnt sure how bad the traffic would be for us especially first time driving on the wrong
side of the road.
