Default Niagra Falls to New York City

We are from California and are planning a trip to Niagara Falls. Our tentative plan...Niagara Falls 3-4 days....Drive to Cooperstown..2 days...Not sure next...thought we would drive toward NYC 4 days, turn in the car and Amtrak into NYC.

We are going Mid September, thought maybe we should detour into Massachusetts or Vermont to see some fall colors before going into NYC. We have about 2 weeks.....

We don't know that we will make this trip again so we don't want to miss anything.

    Any suggestions would be great...JM

    Default Welcome!

Welcome to the RoadTrip America Forum!

In mid-September, the foliage isn't near its peak in most areas of New England, so you'll most likely catch the colors just starting to change. Of course, that doesn't mean you shouldn't spend some time in the area. It seems you have one week solidly planned already, so you still have another week to explore various areas of New England - you could head from Cooperstown up into Vermont for a couple of days, into New Hampshire for two more, and then start heading towards NYC for the remainder. If you wanted to, I'd say you have time in here for a visit to Boston.
