Answering the "where to go" question is probably the single most difficult thing we get asked on this forum. On top of that, you haven't said anything about what you and your daughter are interested in or really how much time you have, so it becomes nearly impossible for us to narrow down the millions of possibilities.
If you've got a week, then you could go anywhere that's within 1000-1300 miles. At the outer edges that could mean Florida, Washington DC, Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, or anywhere in between.
Once you have some ideas, we can help you fill in the gaps, but you really need to take that first step.

A couple of years ago, I took my two grandsons (who bracket your daughter's age) on a 'Mystery RoadTrip'. They had a great time and every day was a different adventure. I wouldn't suggest that you use the exact same itinerary, but something similar into southern Colorado and the Four Corners area should be a great hit. Given that you're starting from Dallas, you might want to include a few Old West towns like Dodge City KS and Santa Fe NM on the way there and back.
