Is there anything interesting between Nashville and Memphis?

Hi all,

I'm trying to plan a trip to visit both of these cities and was wondering what the drive was like between them, and if there is anything to visit along the way. We're first time visitors to this part of the country.

Towards the end of next week (around the 7th), we'll be traveling on I-40 between those two cities. Hopefully I can post trip reports as we travel, which will include construction notes (if any). I notice (from the map) that there are some national wildlife refuges and state parks along that route, and if you were to take a different route besides I-40, you could go up to Land Between the Lakes.

There are tons of things to do in both Memphis and Nashville. No doubt you've found some of those.

On the green menu bar above you will see links to the roadside attractions as well as the map centre, where you can check within a given distance what there is to see and enjoy along the way. Another resource is the forums, use the search function (on the bar above) and put in the keywords. Nashville and Memphis and surrounding areas and routes are bound to have been discussed over the years.
