This old station is train watchers nirvana; it is called the funnel since most of the railroad traffic to and from Florida must pass by it. Refurbished by the town, it now serves as an observation deck for watching the sixty or so trains that pass by every day. There is a PA system tuned to the railroad radio channel so the conversations between train crews and dispatchers can be heard. Directly across the street is the Folkston Railroad museum.
