Yeah, I can see it now.

That appears to be Angel Island on the left, and Alcatraz on the right, so we're somewhere on the northern tier between Fort Point and Fisherman's Wharf, so I'm going to guess this is the Wave Organ, and a Google search on that turns up this site.

Wow. I knew that was the Bay, but I couldn't picture any point on the water like that and never heard of the Wave Organ either. Looks like I have one more thing to see in the next two weeks before I move away from the Bay Area.

Default Where is your next port of call?

Twilight... Where are you moving to?

CalOldBlue -- Yep, that's the Wave Organ -- the sound pipes are mostly filled with sand these days -- no one is really taking care of the installation any more. But it's still one of my favorite places to go and watch the sailboats and etc cruise by!

And it tickles me to stump Twilight, who like you, knows the bay area pretty dang well!

Yep, that'll be it. Timberline Lodge, "welcoming visitors since 1937". Tiny rooms (well mine was but I've just been looking around their website and I think I went for the very smallest - i.e. cheapest - possible) but a hot outdoor pool, a fabulous restaurant and, as you'd imagine, wonderful views (when the clouds lift).

Default Newbies (to this game) are always appreciated

Wow, that's kinda of cool -- it looks like a lake in the background -- so maybe Lake Tahoe or Crater Lake?

    Nope :)

    Hint: That's not a lake

Well, from that, and the fact those aren't Oaks (ruling out St Simons Island in Georgia), it's somewhere in the Pacific Northwest I'd say. But that's all I've got right now.

And Mark, from your question earlier, I'm mostly out of the Bay Area in a week, moving to Utah (Ogden area). So I'm definitely going to be doing a lot of "local" road tripping this summer exploring my new home area.
