    Default T T perchance ?

    Very clever !!

    It was the Notre dame carving that was throwing me off the scent with various churches and universities etc but with clearly too much time on my hands this is what I came up with;

Tribune tower, completed in 1926 after winning a design competition in which they used stone from famous buildings/sites from around the world, including one from a certain building in Paris.

Trump tower completed in 2009 I believe is the bonus point !

Of course I may be completely wrong but an excellent work out and puzzle either way !

Default Well done ... two points

    Spot on Dave,

It is indeed the Tribune Tower. As well as a stone from Notre Dame, this iconic building also includes stones from the Great Wall of China, the Great Pyramid, the Alamo. Abe Lincoln's Tomb, the Berlin Wall and the Palace of Westminster.

And over the road from this TT is indeed the stunningly beautiful Trump Tower with its single spike (this is just a photo of the Trump Tower; the Tribune Tower is behind me as I'm taking this photo):

Default A slightly smaller scale set of buildings

    Peter,

Very nice puzzle and nice work on Dave's part to solve!

    1) Where is this?
    2) What three things is this town notable for?

    Default Nope

First thought was Fort Benton, Montana, which has a similar feel and a grand red brick hotel like the one here but no, that's not it. Reckon it could be the same part of the country though, Montana or Wyoming maybe?

Default Gotta go west, young man...

I really like the town of Fort Benton, (here's one of the reasons) but nope you need to head west. Almost to 122 degrees longitude

Well, that narrows it down to CA, OR, or WA.

    Default Oops....

You need to take a slight detour east -- I still can't read longitude well.... This is much closer to 118 degrees...

Is it the famous Mining town of Tonopah ?

Only that hill looks very familiar !

Famous for the mining boom and is now home to the Historic mining park and central Nevada museum !

    Default Excellent work

    Photographic evidence as well!

And the third element is the Tonapah Test Range -- where the Stealth fighters and bombers earned their stripes.

Default Here's another one to whet your searching fingers

What is the story behind this art?

    1) Where is this?
    2) How long has it been here?
