    It isn't San Ildefonso, but you're headed in the right direction.

    Chaco Canyon >> San Ildefonso >> keep going

    What is shown in the photo is public property.

    Default Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument?

    I haven't visited this monument before and I don't really recognize the photo -- but this might be it.

    (And thanks for Howard for dropping by -- since he is our Albuquerque go-to Guy!)

    That was my first thought but that scene doesn't look familar after our recent visit there, what about Acoma Pueblo [Sky city] ? No idea if it is "public property or not though !

    Acoma Pueblo is private and is still inhabited, this site is no longer occupied.

    Salinas Pueblo Missions is a good guess, but that's not where the photo was taken.

    Default Uh.......... How about another warm/colder clue

    Goodness gracious, there's quite a number of pueblos in the greater New Mexico area -- how about another geo-directional clue?

    A Civil War battle was fought not far from this site.

    Default Gotcha ! [ I think ! ]

    I had considered Jemez earlier on but couldn't find anything to connect it with but having done a little more digging along those lines I have come up with;

    Pecos National Historical Park ?
