This is the Eleventh section of a popular mind puzzle first brought to the membership by member Quebec Gen.

General Rules of the "Where in North America is this?" Game
    1) Anyone can play -- just follow along and test your mettle about places found in North America.
    2) You'll need to be a registered member of this Forum if you want to contribute your own photographs and/or participate in the discussion for each place.
    3) You will need to have the ownership or usage rights to any photo that you post on this forum, as per the terms & conditions of Federal copyright law. If you post a photo that you do not own the rights to, Forum Management reserves the right to remove it. As a matter of practical use, we would expect that you would be posting only those photos that you or a close family member have taken.
    4) Every photo of a mystery place needs to be unique in some way -- And there should be "visual clues" in the photo to enable us to solve where the mystery location is...

Default The first dart pin on this puzzle

Could this be a part of the Anasazi settlements in Chaco Canyon in New Mexico?

Default 119,678 Page Views thus far for this Puzzle Feature

It's been slightly over a year since we began this feature and I thought I'd share with you number of times your photos have been viewed in this format.... As you might remember, we've been breaking the puzzle into 15 to 16-page sections to ensure that the page format doesn't get too wide for many of our member's browsers, (although, now that formatting issue is not really a factor because we set the page widths, but...)

Section One, started on February 19, 2009 has been viewed 28,022 times and counting....
Section Two, Started on April 30, 2009 has been viewed 16,093 times and counting....
Section Three, Started on June 12, 2009 has been viewed 14,945 times and counting....
Section Four, Started on July 7, 2009 has been seen 10,757 times and counting....
Section Five Started on August 2nd, 2009 has been viewed 8,963 times and counting....
Section Six Started on August 13, 2009 has been seen 7,181 times and counting....
Section Seven started on August 30th, 2009 has been looked at 8,277 times and counting....
Section Eight started on September 22, 2009 has been viewed 6,672 times thus far....
Section Nine started on October 23, 2009 has been viewed 5,874 times and counting....
Section Ten started on November 18, 2009 earned a very nice visitor showing at 12,271 views and counting.
Section Eleven-- Started March 14, 2010 is trucking right along at 23 views so far....

The interesting thing about how the Web works is that each of these Sections continue to attract new visitors long after those parts of the game were "closed". In it's first month, for instance, Section One, only had about 4,500 page views and as of today it's count is over 28,000 -- which really makes the chances for rapid growth of Section 10 very likely over the next few months.

Default Nothing like having two puzzles working at the same time!

    Where is this?
And I don't know about you, but this view causes my back-side to clench -- just imagining trying to get one's truck stopped in time at the bottom of this obviously icy hill!

This structure was built after the arrival of Europeans, but the settlement it is in predates their arrival.

Default I think we'll need Howard's expertise herein

Hmmmm, that clue would tend to support my idea that it might be in New Mexico, and if so, I for one, am going to need Howard's input on this to solve this one....

I can narrow it down a bit. The stop signs are in English and not bilingual, so we know it's in the United States.

How about the Green River Ferry in Mammoth Caves National Park. The brown stop sign definitely implies National Park, and I've found some pics that kinda match up, but they are all snapped in the summer, so I'm not completely sure.

    Default Excellent work

Twilight, you are correct again! It is the Green River Ferry -- I even left the "Green" part of the name on the NPS sign -- but it's only readable once you know what it says...

Now, we gotta solve Kestrel's latest geo-brain-puzzler.

    Default That cryptic clue

I've been thinking some more about Kestrel's clue....

I wonder if this isn't from a section of the San Ildefonso Pueblo -- it's private land now.
