LA to Glacier NP?

We are looking to drive from LA to Glacier NP the first week of August this summer. Any suggestions or pointers for the trip?

As a first pass, we are looking to go via LV to SLC to Yellowstone to Glacier.

For sites on the way, we are thinking of stopping at:

Grand Canyon
Yellow Stone
Devil's Tower
Glacier

I did search the forum, but I couldn't find any past trips for that path.

The whole point of RoadTripping is that you're free to design your own trip to suit you exactly. It would be a coincidence indeed if you were to find someone else discussing your dream trip. Nonetheless, a few places you might want to have a look at that would fit comfortably along your route include the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Bryce Canyon National Park, and a whole list of places along US-89 on your way north.

When I read this much of your post, it immediately brought to mind my trip back in 2007. Then I read on, and saw all the other places you are looking at visiting.

Still, let me share what I did. Through CA and OR and the Columbia Gorge I headed to Boise and then drove through the magnificent scenery of central Idaho, ending up by taking 93 through Salmon, Missoula to Kallispell. From there through Columbia Falls (where there aren't any falls) and Hungry Horse on to West Glacier (from where you can take the highway through the park to St Mary). Besides these roads taking me through the wonders of small town America, they were incredibly scenic with untold spots of interest to explore along the way.

The highlite however, was at Hungry Horse. There I called in at the ranger station, and spoke with a most knowledgeable gentleman. I asked him for any unusual out-of-the-way spots or sights worth visiting. He suggested I go up to Belmont Point, from where you can see into the glacial valleys of southern GNP. He questioned my abilities and vehicle, then told me in detail about the mountain road. It is a ride I will never forget. A true hair-raising adrenalin-pumping road.... but oh! the view from the top was to die for.

Does this mean you only have a week in total for journey ? If not, how long have you ?

Zion NP in Utah and the Grand Teton's on the approach to Yellowstone would be another 2 options depending on that time.

You don't say where you are returning to?
Yellowstone is a MUST!!!
Grand Canyon maybe not,
San Fran is more interesting, & it gives you a chance to ride the Pacific Highway from LA to SF, then cut across via Reno to SLC to Yellowstone, then up to Glacier, & IF you are returning to LA then get in as much of the Washington to Oregon to Cally coastal roads as possible.
