    Default Hmmmm, details, details, details

    Let's see, two different sandstone tilted beds -- red were exposed to the air and the white were underwater. Chapparal-like brush, low hills -- western states.

    I was first thinking of the Alabama Hills area near Lone Pine, CA -- but it's not quite right. And the FlatIrons around Boulder, CO don't have hills that look like that....

    But they do sorta look like the FlatIrons....

    This image is mighty close in structure to what you displayed.

    So this would be nearly in Colorado Springs, Colorado?

    And the visitor site has even more images!

    It's not the Garden of the Gods or the Flatirons, but the red sandstone is the Fountain Formation that shows up in those two places.
