I got caught in one back in 1995 that kept us "locked down" in a truck stop parking lot for 48 hours -- the roads effectively were underwater and conditions were pretty darn wet. Wow, 4th successive high tide? Yeah, that's like a slow-motion tsunami....

Kan-O-Tex service station, Galena, Kansas on Route 66, bought by 4 woman who want to keep that section of the route alive and kicking !

By the way, that's about 15 minutes from my house, I was over there the other day to buy some gas without ethanol for my lawnmower (at another station) and decided to take the pic and check out the station, which was closed. MO has a 10% ethanol law, KS doesn't.

The truck was the inspiration for Tow Mater. Also, the town of Galena was the inspiration for Radiator Springs.
