    Default Excellent Work!

Excellent work AZBuck, yes, this is a Frank Gehry-designed building. It seems to me to more of a physical representation of a bi-polar disorder.

The front of the building is that rather bizarre deconstruction-like design and the rear of the building looks like a traditional medical building.... Still seems peculiar to be the design work of a property dedicated to brain research. I'm sure it will serve it's purpose well and be a tourist attraction.

Default Let's get back inside out of the sun

Where is this fireplace, and what is unique about it?

It looks like it could be at national park lodge -- maybe Yellowstone?

It's the fireplace in the Bright Angel Lodge. It was modelled on one of the prominent rocks you can see from Mather viewpoint: Zoroaster Temple

    Default We have a winner!

Designed by Mary Colter, one of Fred Harvey's architects (she also did Hermit's Rest, Hopi House, Phantom Ranch and a few more structures at the Canyon).

This shot tells the full tale of the fireplace:

Above image is a blow-up of the whited-out sign on the hearth in the puzzle shot.
