Where is this? What's this rock called?
If you've seen any of Jerry Kendrick's photos on the web, you might have seen his other photos of this place... He stayed in a cabin right adjacent to this "rock" and it's on one of the bigger of the Great Lakes...

    Default Hint #3 (Sigh)

OK, the lake in question is Lake Superior.... Any takers yet?

    Default Copper Country

Though I haven't a good idea of the exact place name, the rock is likely amygdaloidal basalt on the Keeweenaw Peninsula, itself perched atop Michigan's Upper Peninsula (the UP) where it juts way out into Lake Superior. I'd say the location is either at Copper Harbor or perhaps out at Isle Royale (sp?) NP, some 40 miles offshore and actually closer to Canada than the UP. We more or less snookered the Canadians out of Isle Royale in the days before good maps.

    Default "Hollow Rock"

By the way, Hollow Rock Resort is really only a few cabins and houses located a couple of miles from Grand Portage, MN. When we made our reservations there I was thinking it would be much bigger and much more of a "resort" because of the name. But Grand Portage is a small village populated primarily by the Ojibwa Indians located at the tip of the 'arrowhead' of Minnesota. There is a Casino there with a restaurant and a Trading Post for groceries and gasoline, both operated by the Indians, but not much else. Hollow Rock Resort has a very nice web site, that has all the info about the place. We stayed in the cabin called 'Otter Bank' and had to go to the Casino to register and get the keys to the cabin. We saw very few other people while we were there but had a wonderful relaxing few days. It was all so quiet and peaceful right on the shore of Lake Superior. The 'Rock' was located right by our cabin.

Default This should take only a careful look at the picture...

In what city is this building located?

    Default Good Clue!

That certainly looks like a beehive above the door -- which would make this the Capital Theater in Salt Lake City, Utah!

    Default Correct!

You got it! Even though I scrubbed the "Utah" from below the beehive.

    Default Help needed

Could someone please tell me where I took this photo?

I know it was at a rest area. I know it was north east. But I do not recall where I took it.

    Lifey would be most thankful

Default The person posting needs to know where it's from

I've made a couple of boo-boos when I didn't know the exact location of one of the mystery places I posted -- but the the rules of this game require that the poster has the intent of posting in good faith.

I did some looking around for the likely source of this photo -- but there are hundreds (maybe thousands) of dog walk parks, many with fire hydrants, and so without some clues or something unique about this location -- If you can provide us with a clue or two, that would be appreciated.
