There are some cousins of these critters causing Megan and I a certain degree of vexation at the present time (in our bedroom of all places!)

But where in North America did Megan find this pair of scouts?

............nothing other than a sense of decorum precludes my commenting on the image and the clue.

Absent that, my naturally base and acerbic side would provide a guess intended not to solve the puzzle but to needle the individual who asked it.

Both Foy and UKCraig have spent some time in this city.... and it's world renown, in part, for flesh-eating plants....

Flesh-eating PLANTS? And I've been there?

That means Wilmington, NC, where the Venus Flytrap holds tight to some of it's very limited range.

The crape myrtle and general greenery in the background support Wilmington.

Given that NC has already been tossed out, how about Asheville/Biltmore Estate?

Actually, I am only guessing that Foy has been there... (but I think he has).

Hint #2 the world HQ for a very popular brown liquid can also be found in this city....
