    Default Thank you!

Here's another "east of the Rockies" shot.

Where is this? I have "massaged" the tavern sign to eliminate the name.

    This may take some clues.

    Default Well, I need some!

I don't see enough to really get going on this one.

    Default How about..........

    ..........Williamsburg, VA.

Colonial style brick (I think) and light colored sandy soil are the clues I'm relying on for this one. Those, and the mention of "tavern".

Foy, You got this from the color of the dirt? Holy Toledo! Obviously, I am not in the same pay grade (for this game) on this!

    Excellent work.

    Default One of several clues

    Mark,

You're too kind. I wouldn't have made the guess based solely on soil color, but I also wouldn't have guessed Williamsburg if heavy red clay soil had been evident. Had it been, another East Coast locale with Colonial brick and architecture which better matched the soil conditions would have been offered. Hillsborough, NC's historic district immediately comes to mind, as do a handful of others.

    Default hmmmm.....

Memo to me: next time "Photoshop" the soil color to something else.

Default Dirt? I'll give you some stinkin' Dirt

This one may too easy, but there is a sufficiency of natural-colored dirt in the foreground....

Where is this? What's the building known for in current use?

    Default "Dishing the dirt"

That's the visitor centre at Kelso [formerly the depot] in the Mojave national preserve.

Default That'd be the correct dirt

I like the shadows on the wall from the late afternoon raking sun!

And I thought I really ought to add this photo of the front of the building --

This was for the official grand opening party in 2006!
