Early August Toronto On - Salem MA

Hiya!

I'm going to be going on a road trip to Salem MA for a weekend at the start of august, and am looking for some scenice route suggestions. Normally I cross over in Kingston when driving to the US (its prettier), but am thinking of crossing in Niagara this time. Last time on the way to Burlington I took the 3 and the 11, but wouldn't mind finding things a little more south.

So ideas? Favourite spots, neat or slightly geeky things along the way? Would love to hear from people. :)

If you go by way of Niagara, your best choice for scenic routes would be US-20 across New York and MA-2 across Massachusetts. Here are links to a number of threads describing things to see and do along the way.
