  1. Default HELP!! Information needed on small RV camper van hire PLEASE READ!!

Hi, My boyfriend and I are planning an East coast road trip in October over about 2 1/2 weeks).

We are hoping to start out in Washington DC and driving down to Miami (but are flexible) Ideally we would like to rent a small campervan/RV for two people with enough room for a bed/fridge/gas cooker. Se similar below:

    http://cheap-rv-rental.com/2-3_berth...tegory=3+berth

I have done quite a bit of internet reserch into this and can't seem to find a single company who can offer a vehicle of this kind on the East coast. I can only find much larger 20+ft vehicles which will be much more difficult to drive and are too big for two people.

    Surely they must exist somewhere!!

Desperately need some help on this if anyone has any useful information please let me know. We would even be happy with a company where we would have to pick up and drop off in the same place.

    THANKS for your time!

    Default the bad news

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

sorry to say, I am not aware of any company that offers what you are looking for out east. In fact, I'm only aware of a couple companies that offer them on the west coast. That doesn't mean that they don't exist, we've just never had anyone on this forum that I can remember who has reported finding out.

I would encourage you to keep looking. Such vehicles are also refered to as "Class B" RVs, so that might help you a bit. If you find something, please let us know.

  3. Default Still no luck :(

Thanks for your quick response! I am going to continue looking but having real difficulties at the moment - I can't believe there isnt anywhere on the East coast that are able to rent a similar vehicle!

If anyone else has ANY bright ideas of where I can look or try or any alternatives PLEASE PLEASE let me know.

Thanks, looking forward to hearing from you.

Default An RV Time Shares company might be able to help

Jaimie Hall-Bruzenak wrote about RV Time Shares in 2007 and some of the listed resources might be able to assist you.

USA Rentals has a bunch of east coast locations, and as far as I know, they rent Class B RVs at every location.

If you do a Google.com search for "class B rentals" you'll find a dozen companies that are offering the vehicle size and then it's merely some leg-work or finger-tapping keyboard time to find the right match for your trip parameters.

    Default Not easy.

You will need to check locations etc but have a look at these links to see if you can find a suitable one. The main rental company's don't seem to have any 'B' class or small units in the Washington area and a 23 ft RV is considered small in the US. You could check out Getrv but I have not dealt with any of the company's so they are not recommendations as such.

Good luck with your search !

That is such a pity. I have considered renting a camper in the past but they're insanely big things over there and the idea was a non-starter. Can't believe there's no market for a company such as Wicked to operate within. (Though, please god, I hope they don't bring these guys with em!!!)
