Yeah, I haven't been able to find the artist's name either, but since it directly in front of the Chamber of Commerce's front door, I figure it's only a matter of time!

And I love that statue that Don found in Prague! Truly great!

At first I thought it could have been the old lodge at Stowe, Vermont, but it's not. Cool down? Is there a need? Heck, it's only a balmy 109 degrees here at the RTA office today....

Default It's in the 70s in the greater Diablo Valley

...but perhaps more helpfully, at the subject location: per www.weather.com, it is now 74 degrees and partly cloudy , with 8 mph winds from the WSW.

Oh yeah, it's also almost exactly 4 hours to sunset there as I type this.

    Default You and your clues....

I know I asked for this but... I really didn't intend to have to THINK about this today. OK four hours to sunset ought to give me the longitude and the temperature is very curious....

So it's somewhere south of Montreal, perhaps New York, NH, arrrrrrrrrrgh

Default Nope need to bend north

Reading the isometric charts -- I was thinking Concord, NH -- temps about right, but the wind direction is wrong... shifting the focus...

Now the Boston area is looking pretty solid -- but it could be further west a bit...

    Default Ummm....

Hasn't the sun already set in Beantown?

    Go west, young man!

Also, don't neglect the impact of microclimates and altitude.

On a hot day there's a 3 degree difference between the floor of the Diablo Valley and a few hundred feet up the hill were I live; could maybe be same thing at this location (hint).

That said, this place normally doesn't need air conditioning, but once upon a time it was really hot in this neighborhood.

Default I knew I was forgetting something pretty basic

ok, sheepishly, moving my attention west

OK, now I am thinking somewhere in the Pacific corridor, but fairly far north to accommodate that time -- oh wait a minute....I had thought it could be the Salish Lodge, but the roof is the wrong color, among some other issues. Same issue with the Mt. Hood Lodge, but getting closer?

    Default That temperature differential clue?

I haven't accounted for this part of the clue yet....

    Default Crater Lake Lodge?

I'm not positive how this fits the temperature differential clue -- but it sure looks like a dead ringer for the Crater Lake Lodge!
