  1. Default Tail of the Dragon to Tucson through Vicksburg and Lubbock

Coming accross country on my motorcycle and looking for some camping suggestions. From "The Tail" I am going through Chattanooga, Meridian, Jackson, Vicksburg, Texarkana, on to highway 82 in TX to Lubbock then on to home. I would be interested in some things/places to see and campsites along this route. Probably looking at 350-450 miles per day.

Default Anther Scenic Road and some Resort Camping

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

If you're riding the Tail, then you might be interested in some other scenic roads, although they won't be (couldn't be) as twisty. If Meridien is just a waypoint rather than a stop to see something or somebody, then I'd suggest that you look at heading west from Tuscaloosa on US-82 to Mathiston, MS and take the Natchez Trace Parkway southwest to Jackson. That would only add 30 miles to your trip while making it a lot more interesting. Similarly, as long as you're taking US-82 across northern Texas, there are a few 'resort' state parks in Oklahoma along the Red River and a bit farther north such as Lake Texoma and/or Beavers Bend that might make for some nice overnight camping.
