From Mark: That's pretty funny, that's what I was thinking too -- but the "dragons" on the wall didn't look quite right. Good job to Eris! Here's some more photos from there....

I guess Haleakala Volcano, Maui, Hawai'i.
The pavement in the near background and the apparent proximity of the structures at the summit suggest it's not Mauna Kea on the Big Island.
Foy
Pretty other-worldly shot.... I like it.

I moved the picture sideways : -)
It says “No Parking in Front of Horse Loading Ramp”
I was looking at the Big Island but credit to Foy who pointed the way.
Correct - it's Haleakala and I was very jealous of those going on the trek down into the crater!
I should offer up a tougher challenger someday!!
Mark, I fed all those distances in to my PC and it came up with this -- the Iron Mountain Sign Pole...
Okay, how about this one?

It's on Utah Highway 12 about six miles east of US-Highway 89 on the approach to Red Canyon near Byrce Canyon National Park. (And I don't know why this is doing this weird format on the page)
And, of course, you are correct about the Iron Mountain pole!
