Exhaust jack

Hey all - I learned about this item while scouring some of my usual web haunts. I don't know how much I trust it, but it does look useful for at least changing a flat on uneven surfaces. It can't be any more dangerous than the normally supplied mini-jacks in most cars.

It looks like an interesting product, but I don't know if I'd really trust anything that uses air pressure to support the weight of a car. I could see trying to change a tire on a gravel shoulder, having a rock puncture the bag, and end up with an axel laying on the ground.

Not familiar with that particular model, but the X-Jack from ARB a solid product. Used appropriately, it may be a safe alternative to a Hi-Lift jack in many circumstances.

It should go without saying that these were not intended for roadside use on passenger cars.

I've thought about carrying a similar product in my rig, but I've never seen one actually deployed in real-world circumstances. Have you used it?

No, I have not. I have enough flat surfaces on all sides of my Jeep, so I figure I can get by with just my Hi-Lift. But if I had something like a newer Toyota 4Runner or LC, where there is more plastic and substantially fewer surfaces suitable for HL use, I'd definitely think about the exhaust jack idea.
