dream or nightmare

i'm not sure which forum to post this in but as most of mine seem to end up being moved i might as well put it here.

my road trip is very much at the planning stage, and as such has no definite starting point. If i were to use one of the round trips found on here (about 12'000 miles total) Which of the points would you chose as a starting point to allow for good/reasonable weather?? and what time of year to correspond with the starting point?

We try and keep all posts about a single trip in the same thread -- since your original post was about what kind of vehicle (which is a Gear-up topic) most of your posts were merged here.

And then... unfortunately, there was an operator error (mine) and I put this entire thread in Planning Summer trips -- I've since moved it back here....
