Hi
I am planning on driving from RI to Az in November. I want the best route to take. I don't want to end up anywhere there might be snow that time of year.
Also I am interested in at least two hotels that takes dogs.
Thanks.............

Welcome to the RTA Forum!
Unfortuantly, its simply not possible to give you a route that would be 100% winter weather free in November. Going earlier in the month would make it a little less likely that you see snow, but otherwise, there really isn't any cross country route that isn't at risk of snow and/or ice once you reach the winter season.
Its also fairly impossible to know what the "best" route is without knowing what your goals for this trip are. The shortest route would be to work your way through Pennsylvania, get on I-70 to St. Louis and then follow the path of Route 66, using I-44 and I-40 onto Arizona. Certainly, you can look at a weather report before you leave, and adjust your route to either the south or the north, depending where you find clear conditions.
You're looking at roughly a 2600 mile trip, which you should be able to comfortably cover in 5 days.
Like Midwest Michael says, drive Route 66.
