Las Vegas in May

Hi all,
I'm heading to LV on May 11 and we plan to take a side trip to the Grand Canyon.. I'm also interested in checking out Antelop Canyon, what's a good plan and are there any other interesting things to check out? I plan to leave LV on the morning of the 12th and be back in LV for dinner on the 13th.. Is this possible?

First of all, congratulations on deciding to make the trip to Antelope Canyon which is overlooked all too often by people traveling through this region. With only two days, however, you are going to be a bit pressed for time. But if you concentrate on a 'drive by' visit of the Grand Canyon, i.e. just going along the rim on AZ-64 and pulling out at all the viewpoints along that road, and then spending the night at Tuba City, or possibly even Page, than you will be set up for a morning hike into Antelope and a shorter drive back to Vegas via US-89 through the Grand Staircase-Escalante and Zion National Park.

One of the things I discovered about the Najavo Nation when I was traveling in late December is that Seattle's Best Coffee has established a beach-head of sorts -- It is very easy to find excellent coffee throughout the nation. There is a new and very nice Expresso Bar/Internet Cafe at Tuba City and the adjacent restaurant at the local Quality Inn serves many local traditional food favorites.
