Between Yosemite & Palm Springs | What to see, where to stay

Any advice on the network? I guess there must be millions of them.

Personally, I use Verizon and that tends work just about everywhere where there is cell service. It doesn't work well in parts of northern Nevada and nearly all national parks, but I have been able to get web access just about everywhere else. (Unless one is in deep canyon and there is no line of sight to a tower.)
