Do you actually have a map of the northeast? Are you able to get something like that locally? A good map would help you a great deal. You would get to see many more options than what Mr Google will show. Maybe look at the RTA store (link at the bottom of this page) and see if you can get something to show that area.

Thanks glc. I'll definitely add some buffer to the driving time :)

Lifey, I don't have a map on my hand as I'm in Hong Kong and it's quite hard to get a detailed regional map here. I will definitely be getting one when I arrive to Newark. In the mean time I will utilize RTA and Tripadvisor to get as much info as I can to plan the route and book the hotels. Is there a specific brand of map that's best for a roadtrip? I'll be sure to look out for it in Newark.

    Default Worth Checking out.

Jung, do they have an automobile club in Hong Kong?

If they have and if you are a member, ask if they have a reciprocal arrangement with AAA. I know that most countries which have automobile clubs have that arrangement, and it gives the members access to AAA, their maps and tourism information. If you have that, you can pick up maps at their office in the first place you come to.

If not, you can always buy the State maps there. They are only a couple of dollars each.
