    Default Guerilla Public Service

This isn't really road construction -- but I've used this sign for years and never knew the "truth" behind it!

"....Truly one of the greatest stories in the history of Los Angeles is that of Richard Ankrom and his quest to install a freeway sign that made the lives of L.A. drivers just a little bit easier.

It began more than a decade ago when Ankrom moved to downtown Los Angeles and took notice of a curious omission on the 110 Freeway. .."

Sometimes direct action for the better works best.

At work I encountered a situation where Facilities was stacking material blocking emergency exits. Safety guy responded by telling Facilities to not do that anymore.
I thought that was a weak and insufficient response (I wanted signs).
My manager told me to drop it. (as they nearly always do because we don't want anybody to be bothered by others - even on safety matters)

So I ordered the appropriate signs at my own expense and glued them on the doors. (did a sloppy glue job though.....)

    Take THAT you lazy wretches!

Default Better to apologize than to obtain permission is my view...

Did you memoralize the action by taking a photo of your good deed?

Cameras not allowed in the facility.
Have not yet decided whether to take them with me when the inevitable layoff arrives.
