  1. Default San Francisco - Yosemite - Grand Canyon

Hi! I'm from Mexico City and am planning to do a short road trip from San Francisco to Grand Canyon from October 15th to the 19th. Is it possible to do it in 4 days? We would also like to visit Yosemite Park. Do you have any tips? Or maybe a link to a trip planed like this?
    Thanks a lot!!

    Default Probably Not

Bienvenido al bordo RoadTrip América foros! Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

Assuming you'd want to get back to San Francisco (or anywhere with international air service), you'd have to spend the better part of at least three days (four days back if you go all the way back to San Francisco) just driving. That would only leave time for the briefest of stops in Yosemite or at the Grand Canyon, and very little wiggle room if you're delayed before you'll miss your flight home.

Thanks a lot for your comments!!
What if I flew back from Las Vegas?
Is there somewhere interesting to spend the night on the way from Yosemite to the Grand Canyon? Thanks :)

    Default Little time to spare.

If one of those 4 days includes arriving or departure times then it's really too much, if you have 4 clear days it's possible, but it's going to be rushed and won't give you time to enjoy SF or LV and only have a few hours in each park. To be honest I think you would be better of to choose and go from SF to Yosemite ot LV to GC. If GC is your main goal fly in and out of Vegas and enjoy a mini road trip which could include Monument valley, Hoover dam and stopping along route 66 towns.

If however you wan to achieve your original goal it would be SF to Yosemite Day 1, Yosemite over Tioga Pass [CA120] and stop over at Lone Pine or Panamint Springs on day 2. Then it's to the Grand canyon in time for a sunset and a little exploring the next morning before returning to Vegas on day 4. An extra day would be be so much better !

So finally, we are doing the trip a little bit different:

    SF - Yosemite (2 nights)
Yosemite - Napa Valley (1 night)
    Napa - SF (1 night)

Do you have any recommendations for the trip from YO to Napa? Is there a better route or something worth seeing on the way? Would you recommend to stay 2 nights on YO or in Napa?

    Thanks a lot!
