7 days roadtrip.
Montreal > Cape Code
We're leaving next week in a camping car and we need a lot of advice and insights.
Best roads to take? Places to visit? Things to do? People to meet?
Thanks!

It might be just possible to get from Montréal to Cape Cod in a day, if everything goes right. That means no delays getting across the St. Lawrence (not my experience), no delays crossing the border (not my experience) and no delays crossing the Cape Cod Canal (not my experience). So, as you can see, I don't have a lot of confidence that you can make the drive comfortably in a day, especially on a weekend. To try to do it in a day, you'd need to stick to QC-35/QC-133 to the border at St Albans VT, I-89 to Manchester NH, I-93 to Boston I-95/MA-128 around Boston, and finally MA-24/MA-25/I-495 to the Bourne Bridge and the Cape. There are only a few places to camp on the Cape, most notably Nickerson State Park and Shawme-Crowell State Forest, but they are often booked solid - call ahead to see if they have any sites available. Note: there are no campgrounds in Cape Cod National Seashore. Highlights of any trip to the Cape would include the national seashore, Provincetown, and a ferry ride (leave the car on the mainland) to one of the offshore islands such as Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket. Personally, if I were taking this trip, I'd avoid the Cape on the weekend and instead use those days to explore a bit of Vermont, New Hampshire, and western Massachusetts at a leisurely pace rather than fight the crowds to, on, and off the Cape.
