Atlanta to L.A. and back in May

Anaheim to Kingman is a little over 300 miles -- 6 hours unless you hit a traffic snag in the LA mess.

Which we did! The traffic in LA was unbelievable every day. It put Atlanta to shame. We only made it as far as Barstow after all because we were having a lovely time at the beach in Santa Monica.

Hi all, we just got back late last night. We ran into super heavy rains on the way from Amarillo to Dallas and had some car trouble in Childress. Luckily we were able to keep driving and get it checked out in Dallas, but we learned that small towns in Texas are not great places to have car issues! We lost a bit of time because of that and decided not to detour to Austin as we had planned. We went north to Little Rock and Memphis and then back to Atlanta. I have to stay, the I-10 route along the gulf was a more interesting drive (until Texas, that is).
