Los Angeles to Yellowstone National Park

Planning a 5 day trip from Los Angeles to Yellowstone Park - any advice on must see spots? traveling with small children.

Since it's a full two day drive from Los Angeles to Yellowstone, if five days is all you have for a round-trip journey, then you really don't have the time to make this an enjoyable and memorable adventure, just the time to drive there, go "Ooh" and "Aah" a couple of times and then make the same long drive home. If, however, you have five days for a one-way drive then things really do start to open up and a number of other great national parks are on you way driving up to Yellowstone. So what does your itinerary and schedule look like?
