Help me for my road trip from Los Angeles to Vancouver in 7 days

Hi, i would like to get some advice and pointer for my upcoming road trip. This road trip is for me and my mom... i am planning to take the trip in August 13- august 18 which stop at vancouver... first i would like to ask which freeway that i should take to give a good scenery ... second i like to know which places that i should stop for the best experiences along the way... my rough plan would be like this
day 1 : drive from LA and stop by Santa barbara and Bug sur and stopped at San Fransisco
day 2: drive around SF, sacramento and continue to Redding , ca and spend the night there
day 3: drive around redding and stop at eugene
day 4: drive from eugene and stayed at portland , oregon
day 5 - day 6 : drive around portland and continue to seattle and stayed over night there
day 7 : drive from seattle to vancouver and finally arrived there
what do you guys think??? is that good enough or too ambitious??? help me please

The first day is the biggest problem. LA to SF via the coast is a pretty solid 2 day drive. Its really not a drive you should try to do in a single day.

SF to Redding is an easy drive, but I'd skip Sacramento and just focus on SF, and all of the rest of your drives are quite easy, so you should be able to make adjustments to give you enough time for the LA-SF drive.

One other thing to worry about is rental car. Most companies will not allow you to rent a car in the US and drop it off in Canada, and the few that do will charge a substantial fee. You may be better off driving to Seattle and then taking a train or bus onto vancouver.
