    Default Lake Superior Circle Tour

    Greetings RTA!

I'm back! I took a break from the forum after my last (well first) roadtrip fell through.

    http://www.roadtripamerica.com/forum...p?t-19647.html

Now that I'm done with school, gainfully employed, and accruing vacation time; I'm set for my first roadtrip. I have a week off starting June 11th and I'm set on a circle tour of Lake Superior. I've been researching and planning for sometime, but I lack personal insight which brings me to the great ol' RTA!

This site has been rather useful, http://www.lakesuperiorcircletour.in...ult.asp?pgid=1 but again, personal insight would be more useful. Does anyone have a list of must see adventures? I'm pretty well set from Duluth to Grand Marais, but beyond that I'm at a loss of what to see/do. Nevertheless, I'm good at flying by the seat of my pants.

I still have the 2000 Mustang like I did before. She now has ~150k miles and a clean bill of health (just had her checked out, oil changed, fluids checked, and air filter changed) and all ready to go! I have an iPhone and ipod kit for entertainment. What other toys should I get for the trip? Is a TomTom a good item to have? My iPhone will not get GPS service in Canada.

Giddy Up! It's about time to burn some rubber!

While it's always nice to have a GPS of some sort, a good paper map is more reliable. At least a good paper map will not adamantly insist that you drive down a particular road.

Any suggestions for a paper map? It's been awhile since I've used one.

Check out AAA, if you are a member there, or click on maps on the green bar above. But I would have thought that you could find a good map store in the twin cities. The more local, the more likely you are to get what you want.
