  1. Default traveling from San Diego to Vancouver Canada

hello all. my husband and I have decided to take our teenage daughters to a road trip to Vancouver to visit family members this summer. I would love to get some ideas about places to visit passing San Fransico mostly. Other than driving and sight seeing, what is out there to stay over night for? I am also very much interested in places for wine tasting for my husband and I.
    Help!

Default Good Advice Never Goes Out of Date

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

Although most of these discussions are from 2007 or so, the attractions are still there and still worth checking out. From personal experience, I would recommend a drive both up and down the Columbia River from Portland. Below (west of) Portland are Astoria, Lewis and Clark National Historical Park, and of course the Ocean. Above (east of) it are the Columbia River Gorge with its many waterfalls and (especially if your daughter is a Twilight fan) the View Point Inn in Corbett. Also note that the Willamette Valley, through which I-5 travels for most of its route through Oregon, is known for its wine making
