Road Trip MI to CA in November

I'm driving my Malibu with my boyfriend from Michigan to California next weekend. We want to visit his sister for Thanksgiving in Albuquerque so we want to take the south route. I know I want to take him to the top of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. I'm still trying to figure out the best places to stop, eat and visit along the way. Any suggestions?

Before we can offer suggestions, we need to know a bit more about you:
How many days do you have for your trip? You stated you're going next weekend - hopefully you've allotted more than two days for this trip!

What types of things interest you? What types of thing interest your boyfriend? Do you have any particular dietary requirements (for instance vegan/vegetarian, or perhaps looking for a great rib joint)?

I'm driving my Malibu with my boyfriend from Michigan to California next weekend. We want to visit his sister for Thanksgiving in Albuquerque so we want to take the south route.

The route that comes to mind would be to take I-44 out of St Louis, down to I-40 in Oklahoma City, then I-40 to Albuquerque. St Louis to OKC is about 500 miles and toll road in OK. Then OKC to Albuquerque is another 500 miles. So there's two days right there....hope you've allotted a bit of time!

I'm still trying to figure out the best places to stop, eat and visit along the way. Any suggestions?

What do you enjoy? Scenic? Museums? The oddball?

As far as eating -- whenever we are in need of food, we ask locally "what's a good place to eat around here?" We've had some great meals that way!
